Hi.
I've downloaded a new BIOS for an old Jetway J-656VXB motherboard that I have here, but I've found one problem:
When I've downloaded the BIOS upgrade, they have this warning saying that if the BIOS is older than Aug/1998, I should only upgrade if the EPROM chip is from SST or Winbond. The problem is that the EPROM that I have is a Intel P28F001, and the BIOS is from 08/22/1996.
In the motherboard manual one can see that the SST and Winbond are 5v chips, but the Intel is a 12v chip. Can this be cause of the warning?
Should I try to flash the BIOS anyway? Does anybody have tried this out, or has any experience with this matter?
Thanks
