Problems :TH7II & P4 2.4

I just put a system together,Abit TH7II and a P4 2.4 g cpu,both new-retail.I can`t get things to work right in bios,and it has the latest update.When I set it to 2400 mhz,it won`t boot back up until I unplug then plug back.It says CMOS checsum error-defaults loaded.Any ideas?I`m going back through the book now to see if I missed something.I have the same system,only a slower cpu(1.8)I didn`t have any problem like this with mine.


Edit:When it comes back on,it says CPU is unworkable or has been changed.Please recheck-CPU soft menu

I have xp installed now,buy still can`t figure out what`s wrong.

hey bro you might get better luck in abit section of the overclockers forum with everything you could ask for

hope this helps as they have a slew of info there and mobo specific bios and updates

Thanks.I finally turned off the softmenu and it works fine.
