Trying to take a dual boot drive from my amd rig and put it in an old bx machine, it is NTFS on the w2k. tried it once and get a inaccessible boot drive blue screen during w2k bootup. any ideas. can i do a enum reg key delete deal like in 98?

A different machine is a different mobo . . . different controllers and everything. That usually is almost impossible with a single boot, but with dual boot and especially W2K, it is almost impossible. The partial NTFS makes it even more of a nightmare.

i have done the enum key delete drive swap many times succesfully under 98se, i am getting the impression that this dual boot setup w/ diff file systems is a different animal, also don't have a whole lot of w2k experience.

Inaccessible boot device could be a drive letter or drive controller issue. I've done it successfully a few times, always using the standard IDE33 controller. W2k seems pretty good at handling hardware changes - much better than win9x. If the first boot is unsuccessful, running a repair install might fix it.
