Problems sharing files/printers in Windows 2000

I have three computers setup with Windows 2000 and would like to setup sharing of files/printers between them all. I am also running Zone Alarm and have the other two computers allowed in the security settings of each machine. I set a directory on one computer to be shared and then tried to access it from another computer but it said that the share could not be mapped and that no network was found.

What could be wrong here?

(all the computer at connected through an 8 port hub)
 
Did you make sure that all the computers belong to the same workgroup and have different ID's? Often times when you cannot use file/printer sharing, even after setting up IP addresses correctly, the cause tends to be incorrect workgroup names.

To check in Win2k, right-click on My Computer, then click on the Network ID tab. Your computers should all have different names and the same workgroup name. To set them, click on Properties, then type in the name for the computer in the top text box, then click on the workgroup radio button and fill in the name you want for your workgroup (it could be anything, MYMACHINES for example). Be sure to make it the SAME workgroup name for all machines.

Hey thanks for the replies. The problem was that I didn't have sharing installed on one of my boxes.

How come (when logged in as Administrator) if I change any settings or whatever and then reboot.. the settings are not saved? Oh and how come if the username that one computer is logged in as, is not the same as the other computer then I need to enter a password to connect to the other computer? Can I make it somehow so that each computer automatically logs into the other computer without needing a password?
 
Sure you can. use domain controller to store all user info instead of workgroup. in workgroup all accounts stored on local comp and :
user account on comp1 is not the same as user account on comp2 even if account name is the same. (SAM ID)😀
