problems setting up RAID on K8V SE Deluxe

I'm trying to set up RAID 1 on my K8V SE Deluxe motherboard. I two 250 Maxtor drives, one that is SATA, the other PATA. Is it possible to set up RAID with just these two drives? Any help would be much appreciated.
