Problems setting up MAPI when a personal firewall is on

k, so I learnt the importance of running a decent firewall instead of the windows FW (Text)

Now, I got Sygate this time, and the same thing that used to happen with Kerio is happening:

I try to setup my exchange MAPI server, and it's refusing to "check the username". No popup comes up asking to allow connection or anything. All of the applications are set to "Ask" for network access. The mail setup just times out. If i disable firewall, all is fine.

Please, help!
