Problems setting up Counter-Strike server on FreeBSD...

I got all the way to entering
"export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/halflife/hlds_l:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" as instructed by the tutorial at server.counter-strike.com...
but after I type that it, the prompt says:
"LD_LIBRARY_PATH: undefined variable"

What could I be doing wrong? I have unpacked half-life and counter-strike into the appropriate directories. Help will be much appreciated.
