I currently have two issues I need to resolve. I'm working with the two organization's respective IT administrator, but we're all stumped!
I'm running FreeBSD w/ Postfix and Courier.
The university is running Sendmail, and I'm not sure what the publishing company is running.
1 - My users can't send emails to users @ a local university. I tried to telnet into their email server but it wouldnt let me. However, when I'm at home, I can access port 25 with no problem. I get an error message stating the transmission was timed out. The administrator at the university states my server isn't responding to his 220 server message, which I have confirmed by trying to telnet into the server.
WE CAN RECEIVE EMAILS FROM THEM BUT WE CAN'T SEND.
2 - A user from a publishing company can't send emails to my users. His error message states our mailboxes are unavailable?! I can send him emails and he receives them, but he can't send me an email. His IT administrator states that all nslookups and telnet commands were successful.
Our firewall doesnt show anything out of the ordinary. I'm not sure which end the problems are on. Anyone have any clue?
