if i run my memory at 400 instead of 333, i get problems with my vid card now. just moving windows around my desktop is choppy. and running Day of Defeat causes enough graphics problems that VPU Recover kicks in.

It was working fine before at 400...
I've increased my vcore to 1.7. should i increase the voltage to my vid card and/or memory as well? (both on auto now)

here's my info:

Codegen 6066-CA case
ASUS A7V600 400FSB, SATA, Gbit LAN 6.1, Audio, 8xUSB, With Bios Rev 1006
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton Core 333MHz 512KB L2 Cache (overclocked to 3200+)
Vantec Aeroflow Heatsink with Arctic Silver 5 compound (keeps me around 45 at full load while overclocked)
Infineon 256MB PC3200 400MHz DDR Memory

You might up your memory voltage some. You might also check your memory timings. If upping the voltage doesn't help, you might try loosening the memory timings a bit. If your processor was running 3200+ speeds at stock voltage then I wouldn't see why you'd need to up it. It won't hurt anything but it might make it run a couple of C's hotter.....

passes memtest and prime95's torture test.

Here's the current timing settings:
Cas Latency: 2.5T
Ras to Cas Delay: 3T
ras precharge delay: 3T
Active precharge delay: 7T

right now my dram voltage is on auto, my options are 2.55, 2.65, 2.75, 2.85.
How can i tell what my current voltage actually is? i can't find an option to display my mem or vid card voltage in either mbm5 or asus probe.

Well...the simplest thing to do would be to try each of the settings for dram. I think you should at least try 2.55 and 2.65. Some memory manufacturers guarantee their ram to work up to 2.8 or higher but I don't know what a "safe" voltage setting is on that. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this situation......sorry I couldn't help you more!

try getting aida32, i'm pretty sure it'll show you what your memory voltage is running

You should start with your vdimm (memory voltage) set to 2.75 in the bios. That's a safe voltage. Then you can check it with MBM5 or Aida32, and see what it's running at while the system is under 100% load. But, after having said all that, it sounds to me like your psu (power supply) might be wimping out on you.
