Right now I live in a house of 6 guys, we're all in University, and we all like to download things. There's always someone downloading in our house, at roughly 100-150k or some disgustingly fast speed.
Problem is, whenever anyone downloads something, the browsing slows to a crawl and I might as well be on dialup. It's been a major pain in the ass for us, and we are kind of out of ideas. There's one guy and myself that take care of the networking, and we've done everything from trying out m0n0wall to changing routers to resetting every 15 minutes. Is there something we're missing?
Basically, what we're looking for is browsing to always have priority over downloading programs such as Bittorrent and Ares so we don't have a problem with this.
