Problems Reformating

So I am trying to reload windows and when it comes up I hit F6 to specify my SATA drivers which I got off my mobos website and that works all fine and dandy then when it comes down to installing it sais I have no hard drives available. I have tried switching between SATA 1 and SATA 2 and the same thing, anyone had this happen before?

I thought I read somewhere that some board had problems with this
as you say you loaded the drivers so we might assume the problem is elsewhere
what board is it and have you check bios updates ?

I updated the bios and the board is the Abit AV8
