Problems playing .WMV files on Win95 system

I have Win95 at work and I need to play a .WMV file.

It is a streamed file that I saved to my hard drive.

Currently my system has the following:

Windows Media Player 6.01
Realplayer Basic 6.09

Neither will play the file. WMP says that it was "unable to download an appropriate decompressor". When trying to upgrade to the newest version of WMP, I found out that WMP 7.0 doesn't work on Win95 systems.

Realplayer doesn't seem to have a plugin for these type of files....anyone know of any other players I can use to play this file on a Win95 system??

System info:
Win95 OSR 2.5 w USB & Y2k Patch
IE 5.0
PIII 900 Mhz Thinkpad
128 MB RAM
Display adapter: S3 Inc. Savage/IX w/MV
Audio: Crystal SoundFusion Virtual MPU-401

Mybe You do not have the codec needed to play this file. Try downloading something like DivX codec and AngelPotion MPEG decoder. If You have those two installed on Your computer everything works.

WMP 7 doesn't work on windows 95? Man, they must be REALLY pissed people haven't upgraded by now.

You'll have to find out the exact codecs/dll's, but I imagine you should at least try to upgrade to 6.4 and it may work.
