Hi all, this is my first post in this thread, but I have been reading this for awhile. Because of the great support here and in the Asus forums I went ahead and built my rig with this mobo. Anyway, here is a breakdown I'm having with overclocking. I can't seem to get above 1200 FSB no matter what settings I try. I can go right up 1199 and everything runs fine. Memtest and Orthos both run for hours without any errors. The system is rock solid at anything below 1200 FSB. I've followed the guide on pg. 92 but that still has not helped. Below is my what I'm running.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro
2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800, 4-4-4-12 2T, voltage is Auto, also using yellow slots
400GB Segate Sata HD
BFG 7600 GT
2 DVD burners
500w Ultra V PSU
Antec Nine Hundred case
I don't think temps. are an issue because CPU rarely got above 34c-35c and mobo was around 28c-30c, after hours of running Orthos. I don't however have a heatsink on the southbridge. The weird thing is that whenever I try to change the voltages on anything (memory, Vcore, NB) to anything other than auto, either the system won't post or will hang at the windows startup screen. So all my overclocking has taken place with all the voltages set to auto. Could this be a PSU issue? I know 500w is plenty of power to run this system, but this is also not a high quality PSU. I got the PSU free after rebate so I can't complain about the price. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
