Problems opening .pdfs in firefox

I just recently installed windows 7 on my computer, so I had to start from scratch. I am getting an error message that says " The adobe Acrobat reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browers. Please exit adobe and exit your web browser and try again."

I have done this of course... didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled like 10 times and that did not work either. Help please!!

I've always had that issue, I don't think FF supports opening it directly very well. I did see it work a few times but it's hit and miss. I just do "save target as". Faster too.
