I have a client who I finally upgraded a server for. They're now running SBS 2003. They were all previously checking their pop mail accounts through outlook and now I want to set up their exchange server.

So, I've taken care of all the basic setup, created AD users, mailboxes, etc and everything works great. All workstations are running outlook 2000. First, I export the user's personal folder to a backup pst. Then, I set outlook to corporate/workgroup and added the exchange service with a default delivery location of the user's exchange mailbox.

Now, when I import the pst data to the mailboxes, if I select a mail message in the inbox, sent items, deleted items, etc I get this in the preview pane:

"This item contains active content and cannot be displayed in the preview pane. Open the item to read its contents."

Double clicking on the message yields this error:

"Can't open this item. Could not complete the operation because the service provider does not support it."

Same thing happens if I start from scratch and drag and drop or copy/paste the messages from personal folders to exchange mailbox.

I've done this countless times with Exchange 2000 and Exchange 5.5 servers, so this has to be something with Exchange 2003. :disgust:

Google group searches on the error messages yield only one other newsgroup post by someone with the same problem with no replies. Nothing in MSKB either.

Please help!

I've also run isinteg with the alltests switch and the database has no errors (not surprising, considering I've only imported 2 small psts to test).
