Problems installing XP

Ok my sister has an hp desktop that has a 40 gig Western Digital hd. She was having problems so I formatted the hard drive and now i'm having problems with the install. Setup started normally, loaded files etc. It let me choose the partition to install and I then formated the disk to install, then Windows loaded the files. Then it gets me to the screen where it will reboot in 15 seconds and saves the configuration. When it restarts it does not pick up the install where it left off before restart. It always starts the whole process all over again. And no i'm not hitting any key to boot from the cd, it automatically goes to that.

i think u can pick out the cd when the computer restart
or u can mod the bios and let it boot from the hd

Yes make sure its booting off the hard drive and not the CD again. It shouldnt unless your hitting keys to boot off the CD. If it still does it the hard drive might be bad. Try a different hard drive if you have one laying around.
