Problems installing EpoX 8KTA2 MBoard

I'm trying to upgrade my system from P-166 to AMD-900 without re-installing Win98SE. Never mind that I've already pretty much decided now to clean install, but I'm still curious as to what's going on. I booted in safe mode so I could replace drivers, etc., but before I can do anything, Windows is detecting components of the mainboard as "hardware," and asking for drivers for it. Examples are "PCI-ISA bridge," and things like that. Is this correct? Should this happen, and if so, I assume the drivers are on the mainboard installation CD? The documentation with the mainboard is very poor and gives me little guidance (or I'm just clueless). Any suggestions? Thanks.

At this point just format c: . SE is trying to deal with a brand new Bios, this is the stumbling block. It's possible that the OS may find its own up to date drivers, let's hope so. If it can't, it should choose olde AMD type drivers that it already has "in stock." It's remotely possible that SE could pull the drivers off of the Cdrom that came with your new mobo, but SE is developmentally disabled, and usually can't do this--especially if drivers are in .exe format.

Just get SE installed. Then find Via's 4 in 1 driver on the mobo's Cdrom. Install 'em. Reboot. With luck, you'll have a spiffy new box that's ready for action.
