Problems in STALKER and NFS: Most Wanted

In STALKER and NFS: MW I get weird little phases where the game freezes for a couple of seconds, then the screen goes black for another couple of seconds and then it goes back to normal. This usually happens every 5 - 10 min or so but ca vary. I.E. sometimes it goes absolutely beserk in STALKER and does it every 30 seconds and sometimes I don't see it for 30min - 1 hr.

I think its my video card, a Sparkle 6800GS. It idles at 45C and the load temperature is 75 - 80C which seems really high.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Believe it or not those temps shouldn't be causing the GS to lockup because the max temp for those GPU's is a blistering 120c (!!!) ... my old 6800GT topped 80c under load all the time & idled around 60c for over 2 years of 24/7 operation without any problems at all.

The things that seems to cause problems in the games you mentioned is EAX being enabled and/or video driver problems.
