Hey guys I really need your help. I have a IBM I series Thinkpad 1200 Type 1161 w/ Pentium III 700mhz with 192 ram which I've had for 3 years. It just recently past couple months got a crack in the lcd case but hasn't effected the LCD. It had started as a small scratch. But that is besides the point. The past year I will be on my computer and it will beep and then my house will act as if it were 10 times faster and the keyboard will type 2 times as fast. Sometimes it will do it soon as I turn it on. Not even once a month the blue screen of death will come up and I'll shut it down and then it'll work fine. Every once in awhile if I pull the battery and put it back in it will start working fine. I'm running XP Professional with only the original updates, I don't have it connected to the web so I don't have all of the newest updates and such. Could it just be that or is it something worse? I really don't feel like buying a new laptop when this does the job. Thanks in advance!
