problems getting Windows Defender to install

When I try to install Windows Defender Beta II, I get the following error message:

This software requires GDI+. Please load the Windows 2000 Security Software Prerequisite Pack.

I had already installed ALL of the Security patches, etc. BEFORE trying to install the Windows Defender.

Why am I getting this error and how do I fix it ?

That seems to have solved the problem.

But, I am wondering why I am having to do this. I installed the Windows Defender program on another computer (of the exact same spec.) last week using the same installation procedures and I did not get this error message.

Is this something that has changed in the Windows Defender program or was something possibly mis-copied during the download of the Security updates for this latest installation ?

I had to do it for my win2k machine as well.
