Here's the situation. I just got sunrocket service. My home network consist of a Comcast cable modem connected to a 3Com office connect firewall connected to a D-Link wireless router which connects to my computers. Sunrocket doesn't have documentation how to connect with a hardware firewall. they suggest connecting modem-VIOP device--router---PC. I tried modem--VOIP device--firewall--router--pc & it didn't work. If I put the device inside the firewall & connect it with a crossover cable to the firewall WAN port from the devices LAN port, phone & Internet connection works fine.
The problem is the network configuration. The device gives out IP addresses on the 192.168.251 network & that can't be changed. My firewall gives out addresses in the 192.168.5 network. I am capable of changing that, but if I do I can't make a VPN connection(to network at work) because of my firewall rules at work and my VPN software. So the VIOP device gets a .192.168.5 address but gives out addresses on the 251 network
What I need to do if figure out how I can put the VIOP device on my 198.168.5 network & make it work. When I do it manually & turn off DHCP on the device nothing works. If I leave it as is, my computers get a ..251 address & I can't make a remote connection to work.
Help!!
Thanks
