Problems Flashing BIOS in KT7A

I downloaded the new WZ-Final BIOS for the KT7A board. I created a system disk (format /s) and copied the files on to the disk. Upon reboot, in DOS, I load the .bat file that automatically loads the BIOS and it sits at the screen showing the file name of the BIOS update (KT7_wz.bin) and does nothing. It you hit any keys (even numlock) the system locks up and starts beeping like crazy!

Why?
Is it because my system is overclocked? Do I have to return it to normal settings to flash the BIOS?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've experienced some BIOS flashing probs on other boards and usually the flashing prog ran OK starting F8 into safe mode for DOS. Give it a try. ' Win boot disks load some drivers, create ramdisk, so there's not enough of that good old extended memory (? I can't even remember if that's the right word :confused😉 left to run proggie. ' edit: Hey it's inverted commata ignore !

from what you describe, there may be an error in the .bat file that's on the floppy.

Usually the command in the .bat file will be something like "awdflash.exe newbios.bin"
where newbios.bin is the name of the bios file.

The bootable floppy needs to contain DOS, an autoexec.bat, awdflash.exe and the newbios.bin files.

Usually you can also flash from the "F8 - C prompt only selection but be careful since it's possible that a memory manager could be loaded with this choice and this will have negative effects on bios flashing.

The fresh formatted /s floppy with only the files need for the flash is generally the safest choice.
