Alright, right off the bat, here are my specs:
Athlon 700 MHz (original Athlon)
ABIT KA-7 Motherboard
Hercules 3D Prophet II 32 MB (GeForce 2 GTS)
Western Digital 60 GB HD
Shuttle 10x DVD
Panasonic 32/8/4 CD-RW
SB Live! Value
Linksys 10/100 NIC
Generic 56k modem
3 8mm case fans
That's all the stuff that I have, now here's the problem: Lately (in the past week or so), my system has been refusing to boot every now and then. Won't post or anything...monitor goes to "off" mode, etc. This happens almost every *other* time I power on or reboot.
Also, it will sometimes reboot for no reason at all...I know overheating can't be the problem, as I've modded the case quite a bit to deal with that. Now...
What I've done so far: Set the bios to default values; unplugged all fans (to see if power was a problem); systematically removed every peripheral until only the video card and CPU remained; tested each stick of RAM seperately, in different slots.
I'm about to go crazy over this. It seemed to start doing it for no reason at all, and I can't figure out what the hell is going on. I've only had this system for a little over one year, and I've had a few small stability problems here and there, but nothing like this. If any of you could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
