alright, so here's the problem, whenever i attempt to play any games, besides something like css/hl2 my computer reboots after a few seconds of playing it, no matter what game. i'v clocked my comp back to stock, 400mhz ddr and 2.2ghz, it just keeps doing it. i'v run memtest for a little bit, but as soon as i hit c to change the settings, my computer rebooted again. it had no errors for one pass, i plan on running it overnight at least

can anyone assist me in figuring out what the hell is wrong. im thinking its my cpu, when i tried oc'ing, something got screwed up and now im thinking i gotta replace it.

By changing the voltage setting, it is possible that you damaged the chip, just not so badly that it died immediately.

Presumably you've verified that the CPU temperature is not something outrageously awful due to a poorly mounted heatsink or something? Have you tried running the system with the side off and a household fan blowing into it?

Are those video card speeds only what it runs at when you've got Windows loaded?

oh no, my temps never get above 45C when it was oc'ed, stock i never get above 40C. so temps arent the problem, it probly was the voltage then huh....damnit. next paycheck im gonna hafta buy a new cpu....oh well...here comes the x2 then. those speeds for my video card are for when im gamig, that hasn had a problem yet, its ony when i boot games. even durning memtest, 8hrs of memtest it has no failures, but when i hit c to change settings, it reboots immediately. actually, i just did the math, its cheaper to go to a core 2 duo, than to buy the x2 right now....the e6300 is cheaper, with that board anandtech reviewd that uses ddr400 ram....so im gonna go that route...and get a cheap intel board and the cheaper core 2...

here's a new kicker, im running seti(anandtech, of course) and its been running since last night, and nothings happend. could it be my board that went bad? my ram checks out, my cpu seems to handle 100% load for long periods of time fine.....so it would have to be my mb wouldnt it. and its only at 33C
