Problems connecting TV to Video card...

I have problems viewing my PC on the TV.

It was working when I had my old Radeon X850XT in my rig but now I'm using a 7900GT. I discovered that the Radeon S-Video cables aren't compatible with Geforces so I used the one that came with my Geforce. It's different in the way that it has 4 connectors on one end (R G B, S-Video) and then the standard connector to the video card. My old Radeon one had two yellow connectors and two black S-Video ones. With my old Radeon, I would plug the yellow into yellow and voila, done. I plug the yellow into the R, G, B and nothing displays on my TV.

I'm pretty sure I set it up correctly software-wise. I'm pretty sure it detects, since I can choose any settings in nView. I tried using Clone, Dual View, but nothing displays on my TV. Is it because my TV isn't HD? Are these cables HD-compatible only? Cause nView keeps showing my secondary display as HD, but I don't have HD.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here's the deal. The R G B cables are Component Video. You have to have a TV that has a Component Video input, which apparently yours does not. There is no easy Component - > Composite (the yellow connector) conversion, so what you need to do is get an S-Video to Composite adaptor, and attach it to the S-Video end of your breakout cable. Then you can use a standard RCA cable to connect your TV.

If your TV has S-Video, then by all means use that, less adapters, and S-Video splits the signal into two components for luma and chroma which improves the picture a lot. A lot of older TVs don't have it though :(

Good luck

R,G,B together will connect to a R,G,B component input on your TV, you can't just use one of them as a yellow composite output.

Did your video card come with an s-video to composite adapter? if so, plug that into the s-video out and connect your cable there.

If not, does your TV have an s-video input?

This is what I had from my old Radeon:

When I used this, I just plugged a yellow connector from the TV and it worked. The connector doesn't work on my Geforce 7900 GT though. This is what came with the Geforce 7900GT:
