Hey all, I had to reboot my PC and when I came to switch it on again I've found that SETI doesn't seem to be connecting. I go to 'connect now' and it tries for a couple of minutes with the message:

Sending Result - connecting to server 0%

but then simply comes up with the message:

Can't connect to server, will try again. (Error -20,0) 0%.

So erm...what's that all about then? It has my user name and everything there, and all is as I left it. Is this just a temporary (and common?) problem? I've a SETI newbie so I wouldn't really know.

Thanks :)

Yes, and yes !

Sometimes, SETI Server is down. So you can return result nor dowload WU's.
You can imagine the database size (> 1000 GB) and some back-office operations they have to perform.
You can read their report on SETI@Home page. They say when they upgrade disks, database system and so on ...

I use SETIBuf to dowload several WU each time so I am not so dependant. There are a lot of SETI utilities (WU buffering, times log, control panel).
One of the URL's : http://www.hallquist.net/SETI/SETIBuf.htm
You'll find a documentation (reading it is highly recommended)

Ooops, I posted this in the wrong forum, sorry mods/anyone. Thanks Rapha - I'll look into what you said. Things seem to be running fine now though :)
