A friend and I have put together new systems and we've both been having some performance problems. We did a fresh install of Win2k Pro and loaded the Via 4 in 1s and the USB Filter Driver.
After rebooting we immediately installed the Radeon drivers and began to benchmark in 3DMark2001. His score was 28xx. Not bad we thought so we overclocked both the processor (to 1062) and the video card (to 240/240). His score was 17xx. WTF? We didn't install any new hardware or anything.
We tried clocking the system back down and the score was still terrible. We've been racking our brains trying to figure out what the problem is to no avail, short of reinstalling the OS.
