This is my first time using a forum. I have just purchased a new computer, as follows
P3 733,GA motherboard, 128 RAM(133), Asus Geforce SDR video, Win98. It seemed to work fine until I placed my old Creative Voodoo 2 card in the system (as I have some Glide only software). As soon as I installed the driver and restarted the computer it locked up in the most purcular way. I could no longer select start menu, or get the screen properties by right clicking the mouse on the desktop.
I could get the system info up by opening my computer icon, which showed no conflicts. However the computer really won't do anything as it hangs performing some kind of task. I also have to shut down by Control-Alt-Del (ie. the start menu is not accessable). When removing the voodoo card again, the problem is no longer there.
Can you run voodoo 2 cards with a Geforce (I can still run the voodoo 2 in my other computer (p2 350 with a matrox g200 - no problems).
Is the problem with a 133mhz system or win 98 or what?
