Problems AMD Busmastering since install ATA Card

Since installing a Promise Ultra100 TX2 controller I keep having problems when istalling AMD busmaster drivers for windows... My secondary IDE channel doesn't respond, or I get bluescreens & reboots upon insertion of a CD/DVD. I connected both HD's to the controller & my writer & dvd to the onboard controller, all configured as master.

I still use an "old" slot-A athlon 700 on an "old" AMD 751 mainboard (MS K7 pro).

It is important to me to get the busmastering working, because without it my dvd drive doesn't run at 16x speed!

BTW: I'm using win98 SE
