I was listening to NPR this morning and as usual they had their journalists and guests coming up with their theories and ideas talking about all the problems we're facing. It sounded very repetitive - like we've been here before. It's like each year, each month, each week and each day, we're constantly fighting each other, fighting problems, fighting this or that. This is true whether the year was 1955 when Americans were scared of getting nuked or whether it's the day after 9/11 when we're all scared of the next terrorist attack. Never any peace, whatsoever.

Now, we have the so-called government shutdown or whatever it's called. One side is blaming the other, just like 10, 20 or 30 years ago. One side believes they are the only ones who are right, just like 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Nothing changes.

Yet, the education levels have greatly increased. More college and post-college graduates now more than ever before. This was supposed to create a great society, with equality, modernism, peace and whatever else. Yet, this society is just as crooked, corrupt, immoral and generally messed up as it's always been - maybe it's even worse since it's now more dependent on the government than before.

So, we humans are very educated now. We have sent men to the moon, can take down satellites, can go to the bottom of the sea and do all sorts of other things. However, we always have so many problems, so many issues and so many conflicts. Each year, it seems as if things are not getting any better. We are more sophisticated now but that sophistication has not really helped us in any way.

We're always talking about how bad society is and how it must be changed. It's like we forget that WE form this society. We are total hypocrites since we're always pointing fingers at others. This carries over to politics as well. I feel that it's we who are responsible for the huge mess in this world. We does not mean America or any one nation. It's we: the human race.

Always fighting problems yet never getting beyond them. Fix one small little issue and another one pops its head. Fix that and another one comes up. So why not deal with the entire thing? Instead of fixing poverty in the black community, for instance, why not go deeper into the mind instead? After all, it's that mind that creates poverty.

Sorry for this huge mess of a post but this government shutdown crap and all the other stuff is tiring me out. I guess I am tiring myself out since no one is forcing me to watch any of this stuff. All this political drama is complete bullshit.

People talking with ZERO meaning. This has happened before and we did not learn from it at all. Humans learn nothing from history yet history is one of the key subjects taught in schools. We only learn about it intellectually in order to expand our knowledge yet we don't truly learn from it. If we did learn, there would be no wars or any other kind of problem. But we never do.

Shrug. The govt shutdown rates a zero with me so far. If not for people talking about it I would never even notice it.

Moonbeam has been trying to help us all with this but the changes you are asking for are painful to the ego.

Imagine yourself walking down the street and somebody you've never met before walks up to you and punches you in the face. What is the proper response?

I can't respond when I'm sitting behind the computer typing this post. When the situation arises, we will know what to do. The answer is, I don't know what I'll do. And you're correct about the ego. Unfortunately, we're building it up as each day passes by.

We do not want to learn. That is what we don't want to learn. There is nothing to fix, no battles to be fought, no arguments to win. We are perfect but we were taught otherwise, put down as children and sent on a life long trip of desperation to fix ourselves when nothing is really wrong except that we were told lies about ourselves and we believed them. The truth is hidden in the one place we cannot look, behind our self hate. We died psychically and we fear remembering because it will be just like dying all over again.
