Problematic new build

I just built my new rig yesterday, after waiting for the parts to come for about 2 weeks (I order from special locations) but there are a number of problems.
=========================================
THE RIG
MB= Asus P5B Wifi-AP deluxe
CPU= Core2 Duo E6400 (at stock, still no time to OC yet)
==Cooled by Zalman CNPS 9700 LED (Hell of a time installing)
Case= Sweex case - forgot details but no airflow problem
== cooled by two 80mm (zalman) ZM-F1 (1 front, 1 back)
PSU= 650w Sweex Gold series
GFX= Asus EN7600GT Silent (GeForce 7600GT)
RAM= 2*1024MB Kingston DDR2 (for around 80 Euro each, so good deal)
DVD= Asus DVD writer
HDD= WD 320GB SATA2
OS= LEGAL WinXP Pro OEM SP2+ partitions for Vista and linux ready(Kubuntu and Fedora)
I hope I haven't forgoten anything... I am on this now, typing this.... (with lan cable, see below)

The Windows Installation went smoothly, no problem
=============================================
PROBLEMS
1) Wifi- I chose this MB for the Wifi feature, because my PC is ~10 m from my router.
The wifi worked fine when I installed the drivers for it and I was browsing the net with it while my GFX card drivers were installing. When I restarted the computer (because of the GFX drivers) the WiFi stoped working... it is connected perfectly and says signal is very good .... What is weird is that I could access my home network, but not the Internet... all the other PCs in my house are connected through this one network to the internet, but I can't access the internet itself, only the network... I have tried to access it after turning some PCs off, but it didn't work... IT DOES WORK WITH A LAN CABLE THOUGH... any ideas...

2) XP Activation- When I first booted the PC it asked me to activate XP and so on, so I did. everything worked fine and no problems. THIS IS A PERFECTLY LEGAL version of XP pro! When I rebooted for the drivers (I install all the drivers at once and then reboot only one time) it asked be to activate again, saying that too many signiicant changes have been made to my hardware. I activated again but it didn't work because my WiFi wasn't working, so I figured out that that was the problem and brought my 14m lan cable and activated again, this time successfully. After trying to fix my WiFi, I decided to try rebooting, but when I loged on to my user, I got the same message AGAIN. This time it didn't let me activate because I "exeded the amout of times I can activate" the software. So I called their phone support. I tried to do the automatic activation, with the long code which nearly made me give up, but it didn't give me an activation code saying I installed in on multiple PCs or something... so I pressed the buton to speek to a human. A guy from India (with poor english AND NEARLY NO TECHNICAL KNOWLAGE) answered. after about half an hour of making my do useless things over and over again, and asking me stupid questions, he concluded that he doesn't know how to solve the problem and I should call this and this number on monday. I have spent most of the day trying to do something about this but nothing works. I have found a crack that activates it alone, but that only lasts until the next boot when I am told to reactivate because of the same reasons. Does anybody anything about this...

3) Linux - This is a minor one for now, but linux doesn't seem to want to instal... it gets stuck when trying to boot onto the live CDs in the stage2 part. I have tried it with Kubuntu 6.06 and Freespire (which I just had lieing around by chance) and both got stuck at the same place. "Stage2"
----------------------------------------
there are a few other minor ones that I still need to see if I can solve myself first...

Thanks in advance

ive had to call the windows indian people twice now for activation, and its worked like a charm each time. after you get threw with the computer voice and that doesnt work, you talk to a real person (cant understand half the numbers, but you'll get it eventually) they give you a code, and once you enter it it should work.

idk why ur copy asked you to reactivate so many times. i would think they would be getting more leaniant with vista coming out on the licensing w/ xp.

For future reference: activate after you have all your drivers installed, because your NIC counts for 30% of the hardware that matters and your storage controllers are another 10% of the score. I believe the video adapter is also 10%, and so is your DVD drive if you have one.

For gosh sakes do NOT play with cracks :Q

If your WiFi still is accessing the network but not the Internet, check what your router's IP is, and make sure your WiFi NIC has that as the gateway IP address.
