I have never seen that happen, unless I left the XP CD in the drive while booting. But even then, it only gives an option to boot from the CD on a black screen, which if you don't respond, it just boots normally. If what you are getting is a boot menu, then I would suspect that somehow, it got included on the boot.ini. You can check this on MSCONFIG's Boot.ini tab, and if there isn't one, just open the boot.ini file under C:\, or what ever your OS's designation is. You should be able to edit it.
