hi there

when I wanna extract rar files , winrar will give this error that one of your file are more than 260 character and wont extract it . i cant rename that file in winrar . can u tell me how can I solve this problem ?

Hmmmmmm that is a problem isnt it??

I was gonna suggest going into DOS and renaming the file there TO A SHORTER NAME but seeing its a ZIP file,i dont think thats possible....

I have not ever used WINRAR will it let you edit the names of the embedded files before it tries to extract them??

Good luck to you!

Where are you trying to extract it to? It might be the total path that is too long, not within the zip. Try a location closer to C: ( or equivalent e.g. A flash drive's root)

Why not try the genuine ZIP software? WinRAR is a competitor/alternative.
