Problem with wireless mouse after standby

Hi,

I have a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000. The problem I'm experiencing is that after resuming from standby (S3 STR), certain mouse features won't work, such as horizontal scrolling and accelerated vertical scrolling, until I unplug and plug back in the receiver. Is this a common type of problem for wireless devices? Is this a flaw of the hardware, Vista, or my motherboard? Anything I can do about it?

Thanks!

Try turning the mouse OFF before standby. Then turn it back ON after resuming operation.

Thanks. How is this done exactly? The only button I know of is the receiver sync button on the bottom.

Update: I had "Allow this device to wake the computer" unchecked for both the keyboard and mouse. I checked both and now everything works fine after resuming from standby. I guess unchecking that option puts the devices in a different low-power state that they can't recover from fully after resuming.

Thanks for the help!

You are better off doing what you did. To wake the machine from standby - use the keyboard. This will save mouse battery as well.

All of my wireless mice have on/off switched underneath to conserve battery power.

Not all wireless products have this sort of switch
