Problem with WinXP, not being able to view video file previews in thumbnail folder view mode!

I had this same problem when I last isntalled windows XP. As you know, in windows XP, if you turn on the thumbnail view for a folder, it is able to display picture/video previews. This is helpful to determine if a divx file is complete or not. For a fresh install of windows XP, this feature isnt working for me. I have wmp8 taking all the file associations, however my previous install allowed me to play wmp 6.4, and still have the thumbnail preview work perfectly fine. I can't even view the file in the details pane on the left of the folder anymore.
Anyone care to help?

Thanks,

Steven
