Getting the typical bootup blue screen error. At the bottom is:

stop: 0x0000007e

l8042pr2.sys

Have been using WinXP for about two weeks now on a brand new built computer. See specs below.

I loaded original WinXP, then SP-1, then all the drivers (including Mouseware - latest version 9.75 build 302). Searching Yahoo for l8042pr2.sys brings up various articles concerning Windows 2000 and Logitech Mouseware. However, I'm not quite sure what to do here. If you have a solution, please give explicit directions, cause I know little about using the recovery utilities in WinXP / Win2K.

This is totally random. Just booted up today and got this blue screen and yet I've changed nothing for 2 weeks. Figured you guys would know what this is...Thanks!

If the computer does not boot into Windows successfully, try to boot into (hit F8 lots to get into the menu) safe mode and uninstall the Logitech drivers.

If this is a brand new system, check to see what BIOS you currently have "installed" and what updates are available. I have the exact same motherboard.

Try this for now...

No safe mode? Is a big uh oh. You need to format and re-install or use the recovery console or run the re-install - repair option. These are big "solutions" to the problem, others may have simplier suggestions.

Sounds like it might be,however I`m using the Epox 8KHA+ with latest Logitech Mouseware and XP with SP1 and I`ve had no problems at all.

Doing a search with Google came up with this which`s a 2K problem. ,I did not find any XP related problems with Google &" l8042pr2.sys" .
