Problem with Windows XP

I just installed Windows XP and I got some sort of weird error prompt that wouldn't go away. The error prompt was: "The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume TCD9E396b into Drive F (cd rom)". What does this mean? I think it happened after I installed AOL Instant Messenger. I had to restart the computer becuase the prompt wouldn't go away. Everything is working fine, but should I be worried about this?

Hey guys, I'm posting this message from jail. Bill Gates has personally arrested me...hehe. Actually, I'm just borrowing my friend's trial version. He says he bought it from Microsoft, but I dunno, he could be lying to me. Could anybody please tell me what the problem is?

It only happened once, shortly after I had installed AOL Instant Messenger. It gave the prompt and gave options like 'abort', 'retry', and 'continue'. None of those options would kill the prompt; I had to reboot to get rid of it. It also might have been caused by Norton Antivirus, I just uninstalled it because some file wouldn't load.

don't worry, like I said, you'll have bigger problems tomorrow morning when your state's authorities learn of the pirated software you're distributing.

As to the missing volume, it sounds like you had a cd in the drive on a previous session and when you installed IM the system spun the drive up and couldn't find the cd - hence the "wrong volume" message...

now I want a cookie!

That sounds just about right! Thanks! I'd hook you up with some cookies if you were in the Los Angeles area. ;)
