Hi

Something happened to my taskbar and now its gotten a little bit wider, so much so that instead of showing the regular time as 9:22 PM, it now shows it in a two line format:

9:22 PM
Friday

And also, the icons in the system tray right next to the time have gotten a little larger. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks.

Here's the picture: http://www27.brinkster.com/interx999/taskbar.htm

Put the cursor over the top edge of the task bar and you will see something like <--> only it will be oriented vertically. Then drag the top down to it's normal size.

also, make sure the taskbar isn't "locked." right click on the bar and make sure "Lock the Taskbar" is not checked.

wow! I like the way it shows the full date and day. anyway to do that without making the taskbar bigger?

EDIT: you say you can't make it smaller, can you make it bigger?
also, did this just spontaneously happen? did it happen upon boot?

If I unlock it, it just gets wider. And its not that bigger; I'd say probably 5 to 10% wider than it normally was.

Before it happened, I was playing around with my language settings, but then I removed the extra language. So the language toolbar is gone.

EDIT: by the pic, I like the way that looks! wish I knew how to change it though...

Whatever that program is running with the 100% seems to be too wide for the taskbar, maybe thats why..

Nah, that can't be it because the battery indicator was running even before this happened.

Does it have something to do with the theme you're using? Have you changed it recently? Some VS's have wider taskbars than others.... dunno.. just a thought

If you go to the Settings tab under Display Properties and click Advanced, is your font size set to "Small Fonts"?

Thanks for all the posts guys! I'm using the default theme, so all should be fine. And regarding the font size, its set to normal.

I have no clue - the only thing I can offer is a screen shot of my start bar (Text) - when it's double sized (I usually keep it single sized) it shows the day and the date.

Good luck...try formatting and reinstalling. :)
