Problem With Windows XP and reinstalling NIC HELP!

Hello people! Anyways, I took my computer apart to make room for my new Antec case! Then, I put it together and windows xp had to reintialize my Linksys Network Card (brand dosn't matter). So I put in my driver disk and let Window reinstall and it said.....

Error this device may not function properly..... Windows will now exit setup.... blah blah

but what was important was this was told:

"The name is already in use as a service name or service display name."

This refered to the adapter and it prohibits the driver from being installed. Therefore it is a driver/software problem! How do I bypass this? I know I may have to mess with the regristry?

Let me know if more information is needed!

I have found this message common with other hardware at Microsoft's support. However, can anyone fix this on a network card?

Your best bet is to take the NIC out. Let Windows boot without the NIC.

Then Log off and install the NIC again.

Make sure to have the latest XP drivers.

Few MegaStores have Siemens NIC (with WOL) free after rebate.

I install few of them on Win98 and XP computers. Drivers on CD works well and fast.
