Ok some of you may of seen my problems for installing, well i fixed that by installing it on a another computer than bringing the hdd over to my new computer, it worked surprisingly well. Now however, I cannot install my Raid drivers, when I do, WIN XP will no longer boot. So Xp works just without all of my HDD's =(. So here's my question has anyone had the same problem or know how to fix it? The RAID controller is onboard Promise FAST trak 100 'LITE', and the motherboard is a MSI k7t turbo raid.

If anyone could tell me how i can get my raid controller working and have XP still boot i would be infinately greatful.

thanks,

matt.

When u install XP, the first screen that pops up, has a message at the bottom about additional scsi devices, hit F6 when u see this. You will needa driver disk for raid controller, preferably one for XP if it exists, if not, just hope that a win200 driver will work. The installation will say something like press S to add additional devices, so hit S, stick the floppy disk in, and select the driver. Then continue installing XP.

These is the install method I used on my KA-266r board, which has an AMI Megaraid controller. Not sure if it will work for you, but this is usually howyou do an install with a raid controller.

Don't be shy...I have the Dragon with Promise RAID and will be looking to see if this is a workable solution.
Please keep us posted!

When I was trying to install Windows XP, I was pressing f6 and installing the win2k drivers for my promise fast trak 100, however Windows XP INstall would still hang up. Now that i managed to get XP installed... when i install the drivers for my promise raid, Windows XP will not boot. There's a newer version of the drivers available at msi, i'm going to try them.. but that doesn't work I dunno what i can do.

I have never had any luck with installing the onboard RAID that came with my Asus A7V-133 motherboard, I think it was a Promise FastTrack100 lite controller, with W2K.

I purchased a seperate FastTrak100 PCI RAID Controller, and have successfully implmented this on Win2K and XP.

I have a MSI k7t turbo Raid MB and have succesfully intalled both w2k and winxp on HDs on the onboard promise raid controller. For WinXP I used the latest (ver 2 build 6) drivers from MSI's website and they work without any problems. Haven't tested with the older drivers, and there's really no reason too. I used the F6 key during setup and used a floppy to load the raid drivers; windows took it from there.

When you insert the raid driver floppy after f6 are there a few different drivers to choose from? If so what are they and which one did you pick?
