When ever I try to play some audio file or video file using windows media player 7, it freezes. Freezes the first time, the second.... have to end task and wait a while for it to close. Works fine on the 3d time I load it. What's up with that? :(
This happened ever since I installed a new driver for my 3d labs oxygen vx1 video card.
I'm using windows 2000. My system P700, 256mb ecc pc100 ram, abit be6-2, ect.
I contacted tech support for my video card, the guy answered one time asking me "are you sure you have the right driver" I e-mailed him back.... I guess he's not e-mailing back to me because he doesn't know what's wrong and it's been a while too.

Thanks

See my post on Netscape 6. Downgrade. I installed WMP 7 and went back to 6.4 in a matter of hours. Don't fall for all the hype of why you should upgrade. If what you have works for you, keep it. Just my 2 cents worth.

well wmp7 just SUCKS...it takes FOREVER for the freaking window to open compared to 6.4 (not to mention that it crashed ALL the time with me....)

I went back to WMP6.4 because you can make it loop and open each file in a new window...not to mention that you can drag the window and make it whatever size you want... To change back all you have to do is goto your windows media player folder and open the old media player...then goto the file types under options and click select all...it is SO much better...good luck...

Thank you for you replies.
When I try uninstall WMP 7, it asks me if I want to remove all the componets, tons of codecs etc.
Should I remove them too and if I leave them will they work for 6.4?

thanks

Media Player 7 is so poorily engineered. I can't stand it. It is way too buggy and I don't like the UI at all. 6.4 is way more solid and stable.
