Hi,

I had my Dlink DI604 die on me while I was at work. I come home to find this out... Great...

I had two computers hooked up to the router and on 24/7. When I looked at the network connection status there was a lock showing in the picture.

I took the router out and hooked the main computer directly to the cable modem, But still no connection to the internet (yes, I shut it all down and rebooted it one at a time).

I then went into the network card properties and changed the speed from auto to 100 full. that still did not work.

I then proceeded into the firewall properties and shut off the firewall... Viola!! I was on line and the lock was gone.

As of now I am running my old router DI704 (metal case) and all is fine, Except when I try to turn on the firewall.... The lock reappears and I am shut out of the internet.

It seems that port 68 is blocked when the Dlink604 died and has changed my settings.

Sofar I can't get the firewall to NOT lock me out....

I am running XP Pro SP2.

Any Ideas, besides a fresh install...

One more thing I have cleared any and all viruses and spyware from the computers.

Oh , before I forget, This happened to both of the computer that were hooked to the router that died...
