Programs having trouble: new version of mirc, free agent (from forteinc.com),forte agent(from forteinc.com),
g6 ftp server, and several others that i cant remember.

Problem: After i formatted and reinstalled windows 2000, most programs will come up with
a program error window that says,
"(insert program here).exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.
You will need to restart the program.

an error log is being created."

ive installed the service pack and all of the updates from the microsoft site but nothing
seems to help.

any ideas?

thanks

Thats Dr.Watson creating a dumpfile log, all it means is you had an application crash as opposed to a system crash. Its basically like the "GPF" in Win98, check with the software vendors to see if its a known issue.

hmm, could be an issue with the vendors, however, my friend runs windows 2000 and the same programs with no such error occurring, and i wouldnt think a hardware error would be so selective and varied.
