Problem with WesternDigital 250GB Media Center Edition

i formatted this drive after installing the necessary drivers on a WIN98 system. the format was done as soon as the drive was installed at the first time. after then on it shows me only a total space of 232GB. there is no hidden partition created by me; double checked using Partition Magic 8. i did not check thiz drives space at the first instant i brought it. even though i have data amounting to 80GB+ and counting is it necessary that i format thiz again to check or should thiz be reported to the vendor from whom i purchased it.

232GB sounds right when formatted. You haven't lost any space. Manufactuers and Windows measure hard drive space differently.

mann should thiz be taken to as a legal case in the courts. if they only give 232GB of space why should they specify that its a 250GB drive
