Problem with vnc in Suse

Just installed suse 9 ent edition. It comes with tightvnc and also some remote desktop thing.

Docs seem to suggest i can open a vnc client and go to IP:5901 and logon but nothing happens.
When i open a web browser with IP:5801 it works fine.

i'm using realvnc as client on a win machine...
