problem with Vista

googled the hell out of this, doesn't seem anyone has exactly figured it out. I installed Vista Beta 2 on my Raptor, when it tries to load it tells me winload.exe is missing or corrupt. This is a clean install on a partition that has nothing else on it. One link on google said something about Vista looks on C: by default and if you install on another partition you'll run into problems, but I don't want to overwrite my XP install. Any suggestions?

Have you installed Vista with this CD previously?

If not, try reburning the ISO at a mush slower speed (1x or 2x)

I found that I had to always mount my Vista iso. Burning always screwed things up for me. My Vista OS is in my D: partition, so I doubt that it has anything to do with the C: drive.

If you tried burning it on your own, use daemon tools instead and just reformat that other partition you were going to put it on.

so wait, you tried mounting the iso in daemon tools, installing it with that, and it still gives you problems?

Are you able to try a different Vista build?

I didn't install directly from the mounted image figuring when it rebooted to continue the install it wouldn't be able to find the Vista files because they're on a virtual drive which is no longer there. I burned the image as 4x the slowest Nero would allow. I mounted the image in DT and copied the files to my HD. tried 4 installs, formatted the partition 2 of the times. Tried the "repair" with no luck. I legally can't get a different build, so I have given up, Vista Beta 2 isn't meant to be ran on my pc
