Hello,
I have a dell inspiron 9400 notebook which is running vista 32bit. I have two problems which Im hoping you can help me with.

1.
Every now and again internet explorer stops working and I have to restart the laptop. Basicly the taskbar stops working and kinda dissapears, any windows like 'my computer' or 'my documents' stop worknig and stay minimised and become unresponsive, the start menu will open but is just blank. Have had the laptop just over a year and has been happening randomly for the last 6 months or so.
I recently re-installed vista and it has been running fine for the last 3 weeks but Im still getting the above problem.

2.
I was playing an old game on my laptop and the graphics were very slightly bugging, when I exited the game I had the same problem as above. In addition there were little black squares on all of my desktop items where the little arrow goes to show its a shortcut. The my computer icon, recycle bin icon and the icon for the game I was playing were completly black squares. I restarted the laptop and the squares were still there. I went into the C drive and in the folders there were a few more black icons dotted about.

Am more worried about problem 2 tbh. Would appreciate any help or advice that you can offer.

Thanks

I would guess your video is overheating, or just bad. Being a Dell laptop the only thing you can really do is have it fixed by Dell, under warranty hopefully.

Hmm ok, well I will try cleaning out the fans, is it just a case of unscrewing the bottom?
No its not still under warranty, so if it is bad I might consider up grading it, if that is even possible? Any recommendations if it is?
What about the black squares on my desktop and other icons, because at the moment I can still watch videos perfectly, so I don't think they can be graphics card related?

Thanks for your help.
