Problem with video in Just Cause Demo! *Screenshot*

I just got the Just Cause Demo - Runs awesome except for the fact that there is a small square in the center of my screen during the menu and gameplay. It seems to move with the mouse - but is always visible! This is very annoying and is ruining the fun I've had so far with the demo!

So far I have tried:

-uninstalling Razor mouse drivers
-changing resolution
-enabling/disabling vsync
-changing refresh rate
-various other in-game video settings

Anybody have any ideas? I'm stumped!!

So is the square actually your mouse cursor or is there a separate cursor as well? The square is probably 32x32, the size of a cursor in Windows. All cursors use that size, but most have transparent bits at the edges (and not to mention some form of a picture in the middle) so that it doesn't appear as a square. I suspect that a cursor file is missing and it's just putting black in that 32x32 space.

I don't even think I have a cursor at all in Just Cause in the UI. Not sure, I'll have to check tomorrow.

Take a screenshot if you can.

The square stays in the middle of the screen, but the colors change when the mouse is moved. And sometimes the square shows other parts of the screen (like clouds when I'm staring straight at the ground)

I'm not sure about the 32x32 thing, but there are transparent, blurry edges around the square like you are describing

that looks ugly it runs great on my xbox 360 and looks pretty damn good.

I had all the settings turned way down for these screenshots, but I'm sure the 360 looks way better anyway... :roll:

i have no clue but it's 80x80 pixels for what it's worth.
did you try searching for "Just Cause bugs" or "Just Cause nvidia bugs"?

It could be a hardware cursor error, tried disabling it on the game if there is one on the game?

That's really weird. I definitely don't have that issue. Maybe that's supposed to be a crosshair and the texture is missing?
