Hey, I've been having this weird "problem" with internet explorer lately. Whenever I do a search on here, choose the thread I want to view and then try to go back to the original search results, I get a "warning, page has expired" and I have to refresh the page. I've never had to do this until recently. Unfortunately I don't recall exactly when it happened or if it happened right after an update to Windows XP. I also get it in various other places such as hotmail.

It only started recently and it's really annoying. Was this something new that I may have installed when doing an update for Windows XP SP1? Is there a way to disable it? I have explorer 6.0. I also have it at work where I'm running Windows 2000 w/SP2 and I don't have this problem there.

God I hate Mircosoft....

The "change" may not be due to anything on your end. Perhaps the software which runs these forums was updated to add PAGE EXPIRATION HTML TAGS (or to reduce the amount of time that a page is valid until considered expired). If so, IE will consider a page expired once the expiration time has been reached. If Opera is fully HTML compliant to the latest HTML specs, it may behave the same exact way.

Netscape 4.7x may be a good choice though! :)

I'm happy with IE, other than this problem. Like I said, I don't think it has to with the websites because I have the same browser at work and it doesn't give me these problems, just at home under XP.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to live with it...

I can't stand netscape, maybe I'll give opera a try..
