Problem with USB drive

Hello

I have a stfi usb 2.0 drive. Ive had the drive for a few months now, but all of a sudden this week it stopped being recognized by windows xp.

Well, it gets recognized since I can mount and unmount it. But when I try to access its drive letter I can't. It says please insert disk or something.

Is it something physically wrong with my usb drive or is there any other way to fix it?

Did you try going into disk management and seeing if you can format it?

I did, but it did not show up. I can't remember what I saw there.
